Okay! Day 2 of my 21 day “Voice Archetype Challenge” … and we’re creating a character voice that isn’t quite human.
In this video, I’m playing with The Mentor Archetype (e.g. Obi Wan Kenobi, Yoda) where I’m trying to break down my own intuitive process for building character voices for acting, games, and performance.
I explore:
* Various techniques for making a voice sound non-human (accents, extreme vocal effects, etc)
* A bunch of ways to play with the voice without locking it too early
* Just me messing around with a bunch of voices while on a walk
I’m doing this alongside the Archetypes Challenge by Manuel Puro, which I highly recommend if you’re an actor who needs to do self taping: https://www.purocasting.com/the-acting-habit/the-21-day-self-tape-challenge
